James Andorko, PhD

Director, Discovery

Jim brings more than 12 years of experience in bioengineering, immunology, and material science to lead the discovery research efforts in cell-based assays and preclinical animal models at Interius. Prior to joining Interius, his research focused on understanding the interplay between injectable materials and immunologic responses by exploring a variety of mouse models and utilizing flow cytometry readouts and next-generation sequencing to identify cells and pathways of interest.

Jim received a BS/MS degree in biomedical engineering from Drexel University and holds a PhD in bioengineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining Interius in July of 2020, he completed his postdoctoral research at the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy and the Translational Tissue Engineering Center at Johns Hopkins University.
